The Woman Behind the Method

I built the 111 Method because I needed it —

and because the women around me needed it too.

A Life That Wasn’t Quite Mine

When I was 17, I knew exactly what kind of life I wanted to live. I even knew what shoes I’d wear living it: Birkenstock slides, perfect for the beach and sooo trendy in 1996.

It took me thirty years to buy those shoes.

I bought them the same week I started building the 111 Method. Something about that feels right to me, as though everything I had been moving through, and sometimes moving away from, had finally arrived at the same place at the same time. As though the 17-year-old who dreamed that my perfect life was possible had been waiting — patiently, and otherwise — for the woman who would finally get there.

For a very long time, I was very good at living a life that wasn’t quite mine. I spent fourteen years in classrooms, teaching, coaching, leading theatre programs, getting really good at recognizing things in my students before they could recognize those things in themselves. I was considerably better at seeing this in other people than I was at seeing it in myself.

I spent years being very good at living a life that wasn’t quite mine, in the wrong city, in the wrong patterns, working constantly and managing the gap between the life I was living and the life I knew was possible. It took my youngest daughter asking me, from her first year of college, why I was still staying somewhere that made me unhappy. It took a move with no plan and nothing to lose. It took the slow, deliberate work of deciding what I actually wanted to do, and then doing it.

The 111 Method is what I built from that journey. It’s grounded in neuroscience, structured around four domains — Mind, Body, Heart, Soul — and designed specifically for those people for whom intelligence and capability have somehow never been the problem.

How It Started

I accepted a job at a school on the central coast of California, the place I had always wanted to live. I went without a plan. Without a safety net. Lonely, untethered, and with nothing to lose … which, it turned out, is another way of saying free.

I quit drinking. It was a decision I made for myself, but it was something that I really needed to do. I felt, for the first time in years, like I was living inside my own body rather than managing it from the outside.

I did the deliberate, sometimes uncomfortable work of healing the limiting beliefs and unhealthy patterns that had been running in the background of everything I thought and decided and chose.

This, all of this, is the 111 Method.

I named it the 111 Method because it is something anyone can do as long as they are committed to it. It isn’t some loft theory. It’s a practice and a process.

And I know it works because I am living proof. The method is what I built after learning, the hard way and then the intentional way, exactly how transformation actually works.

The Foundation

I’m the founder of OneEleven Consulting and the creator of the 111 Method — a science-based personal transformation framework for people who are ready to stop coping with everything in their lives and start loving them.

My background spans a career in education, years of post-graduate research in the science behind how we learn and what our brains do with that knowledge, and years of deep study in neuroscience, motivation, grit, and trauma-informed practice. All of that is the foundation of what made this method possible. The 111 Method grew out of my consulting work. I went in expecting to work on organizational problems like systems, culture, performance, and instead I kept confronting different issues that all had the same roots: the individuals inside those systems, capable people defaulting to the same patterns under pressure. I realized that awareness of those patterns alone wasn’t enough to change them. That’s where the 111 Method started.

I was born in Texas at 1:11 in the afternoon. I live on the central coast of California with my partner and Bobby — a dog who has, frankly, already mastered everything the 111 Method teaches. He’s a guru, a guide, and a very, very good boy.

The Shoes Were Always Available. So Was the Life.

I built the 111 Method so that you don’t have to wait thirty years to find that out. Take the quiz and discover which of the four archetypes is the key to your transformation.
